Chairman's Christmas Letter

Dear Supporter/parent/ captain/player/coach/committee member,

As we enter December I write to thank yo

u all for your invaluable support and commitment over the first half of the season, without which the club would not be the vibrant happy place that it currently is. I would also like to convey to you and your families all the very best for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

On the pitch at senior level the club has been successful at almost all levels with six of our seven sides currently occupying above mid table positions. The second half of the season will be interesting with hopefully two or three of these teams pushing for promotion. Our concern must be with our men’s first team where they have struggled in their respective league. I know Jon and his squad of players have the ability to turn results around in the second half of the year and we as a club offer them all our support.

At junior level we continue to progress well with our badgers and beavers recording some fine results particularly against Formby and Preston. The number of juniors attending both our Sunday morning and Tuesday evening coaching sessions has been encouraging. I believe we are on the way to providing the best quality coaching in the area. We wish our U16 all the best as they enter the national indoors, our under 13 girls in their Preston competition and to all our other juniors in their respective competitions.

Changes to our website have been successful this year with the introduction of the social networking medium Facebook. It is very pro active with a great deal of traffic being recorded on it The new website has also enabled us to, in conjunction with Teejak Sports,  build a new on line shop for all sections of the club. There are no minimum order requirements and we are told a two week turn around period on orders

Once again we have a weekly presence in the Southport Visiter thanks to Katie Beckham. Katie however can only include match reports if she receives them, so all you would be reporters get writing!

Lets enjoy the second half of the season as much as the first, enjoy our Christmas and new year break and make it happen in the second half.
