History
Southport Hockey Club is one of the North-West's premier hockey clubs. Affiliated to Southport and Birkdale Sports Club, the club currently runs 5 Men’s teams, Badgers (under 15) and Beavers (under 13
) and 3 Ladies teams. With the exception of the Badgers and Beavers all the teams play in England Hockey Association Leagues.
The club is particularly proud of its youth development programme that not only provides expert coaching for youngsters of all abilities throughout the town but has also developed a number of County, Divisional and International players.
The Teams
There are 5 Men's teams and 3 Ladies teams playing hockey at broad range of levels. This are also Badgers and Beavers Team playing each week, catering for the juniors.
Where do we play?
Astro turf facilities are located at Greenbank high school 400 yds from the clubhouse and at Edge Hill College Ormskirk.
It is to be noted that changing facilities are at the clubhouse and not at the high school.
