Squash Homepage
Southport & Birkdale Squash Club was opened in 1974 as a section of Southport & Birkdale Cricket Club. We have two Squash courts with a viewing gallery overlooking them. In 2006 we invested in the total replacement of the court floors and we now provide excellent facilities for both Squash and Racket Ball.

The Squash Club competes in the North West Counties Squash League (NWCSL). Although a small club, we have on two occasions in our history had a team in the 1st division of the league. In 1992 /3 our first team were runners up in the league, qualifying to play in the national league. Although we did not put a team in the league due to financial reasons, this was a fantastic achievement for a small club. We were again promoted to the first division in 2005, we competed in the league for two seasons. We were relegated at the end on 2006/7. We now field two teams in division two and four of the league.
The first team are having a good season, although we will not win the league we are in a strong position.
The second team began the season in optimistic mood, but had a disastrous start to the season losing the first five matches. They have now recovered and expect to finish the season in the top four.
Annual membership of Southport and Birkdale Sports Club costs £149. This entitles you to compete in four sports Squash, Cricket, Hockey and Snooker. Playing Squash costs £2 for a forty minute session. Courts are booked with a 50pence court booking stamp Stamps and light meter tokens can be purchased at the bar.
